UFC: Anderson Silva Submitted Damian Maia!!!
|
If you’re thinking WTF!!! Anderson lost! But it's not even Saturday?! What the hell am I seeing? Don't worry and calm down. I had the same reaction. This picture, I'm guessing, is a late April fool’s prank pulled off from the UG. I saw this on Bloodyelbow though, great site for MMA, if you're into it. As you well know, this weekend's going to be UFC 112: Invincible in Abu Dhabi and it is going to be the first outdoor event by the promotion. It will be a very interesting event for me since there are a lot of unknown quantities that may or may not play out well on air time. Besides from the fight [go over to BE if you are not ordering PPV for wonderful analysis and updates], I'm eager to see how the dynamics will be given that it will be held in Concert Arena at Ferrari World on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. As said before, it is going to be an outdoor event, how will it affect the fighters? Given that it almost hits 40 degrees here in the Philippines, what more in UAE? And how about the Octagon girls?! Will they be wearing Burqas? One thing I know though, I’ll be up at 1 am this Sunday to watch it live.

P.S. It’s been a while since I posted anything; I’m guessing my Plurk karma went down a couple of notches already and I don’t even know why I ended up writing an MMA related article [maybe due to the impression the photoshopped Silva-Maia fight gave me]! I had a couple of ideas for articles related to the memory training and stuff like that and I also thought about posting my very first keynote speech (!) a couple weeks back but due to the long holy week vacation and my mom practically hogging the laptop every night playing scrabble, I ended up here. I’ll be sorting this blog mess in a couple of weeks? Months? I’ve been meaning to do a couple of blogs with various themes but alas, I’m still in the learning phase. We’ll just have to make do with this one for the moment.
